A Loud Start to the Week

It's always good to hear the construction making progress, but jackhammering the cement right in the front of the school was a bit much this morning. Luckily they offered to pause this loud work until lunch time, and they then made quick work of the concrete by the front door, and the short walks up to Blue room and Turquoise room. We're sharing the Purple Room schedule with Blue/Turquoise to offer them a quieter space in one of the empty rooms (when a class is at PE), or having them relocate outside or into the Rainbow lab when it gets too loud. Here's a picture of the jackhammer right outside of Turquoise! - and forgive the "crime scene" tape - that's all we had on hand :)
In other areas, they are continuing to work on the new sewer line (seems there's some rock in the way that they need to keep removing). Once this is done, we believe they will be able to use the back of the soccer field for parking. At the moment, the construction crew is using 4 of our parking spaces, and with the delivery of another piece of machinery at 8:50am, the drop-off was a bit tight today! (we're encouraging parents and teachers to park up the road at the church). Also, workers hauled off the pine-tree pile and finally pulled out the large cement stand from the lightpole at the end of the parking lot. But now this means that our parking lot will not have lights at night, until they can re-connect the next light pole.
